Brazilian authorities issue arrest warrant for 95 ‘rotten’ police officers

Authorities in Beazil have issued warrants for the arrest of no less than 95 ‘rotten’ police officers in Rio who have been indulged in shady deals likes selling arms and tipping off drug gangs to future operations.

Civil police investigator Fabio Barucke told reporters that police being arrested were “rotten oranges” who would seize weapons in slums and then sell them in other slums.
“We are doing a good to society by removing these individuals from the military police,” said Barucke.
“It’s an important institution for the public safety of our state. We have extracted these rotten oranges, these bad policemen, to strengthen the safety of the state.”
The operation regarded as one of the largest of efforts yet to root out corrupt officers, witnessed the issuance of 70 other warrants for the arrest of other alleged drug traffickers and criminals in and around Rio.
